Editorial Standards

At Bloom Korea, we create practical guidance for international clients navigating fertility treatment, health checkups and skincare in South Korea. Our articles combine firsthand experience, professional contributions, clinic-confirmed information and reliable external sources. Every article is reviewed by the Bloom Korea Team before publication and updated when important information changes. Our goal is to make unfamiliar information easier to understand while being clear about where it came from and what its limitations are.

Who creates Bloom’s content?

Bloom’s content is created by members of the Bloom Korea team, named personal contributors and, where relevant, qualified professional contributors.

The Bloom Korea Team is listed as the publishing author across our website. When an article draws substantially on one person’s experience or professional knowledge, we identify that contributor within the article.

Contributor lines may include:

  • Written from personal experience: Used when someone shares their own treatment or healthcare journey

  • Written by a professional contributor: Used when content was prepared by someone with relevant professional credentials

  • By the Bloom Korea Team: Used for company-level guides based on our experience coordinating care and communicating with clinics

We identify professional credentials as specifically as possible, including the contributor’s designation and jurisdiction where relevant.

How we handle personal experiences

Firsthand stories can answer practical questions that formal clinic materials often miss. They can explain what an appointment felt like, what was confusing, what someone wished they had prepared and how the process worked at a particular point in time.

However, one person’s experience does not predict another person’s treatment or outcome.

When an article is based on personal experience, we identify it clearly. We also explain which clinic or process it relates to and, where appropriate, when that process was last confirmed.

Personal stories should not be treated as medical advice or as a universal description of how every clinic works.

How we source medical, legal and clinic information

For factual claims, we prioritize sources that are as close to the original information as possible. Depending on the topic, these may include:

  • Korean government or regulatory information

  • Professional medical organizations

  • Publicly available research

  • Documents supplied directly by hospitals or clinics

  • Information confirmed through direct communication with a provider

  • Published clinic pricing and service information

We distinguish between legal requirements, clinic policies and what we have observed through direct experience. Clinic procedures, document requirements, treatment availability and pricing can change, so we encourage clients to confirm what applies to their circumstances before booking.

Bloom can contact a clinic directly when a client needs help confirming a current requirement.

Medical information and review

Bloom Korea does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Our health-related content is intended to help readers understand common terminology, prepare useful questions and navigate the practical side of receiving care in Korea. Treatment decisions should be made with a qualified healthcare professional who understands the individual patient’s history and circumstances.

We do not label an article “medically reviewed” unless a qualified professional has reviewed and approved that specific version of the article. When no medical reviewer is named, readers should not assume that a clinical review has occurred.

Professional contributors work within their stated qualifications and scope. Their involvement does not turn general educational content into personalized medical advice.

How we compare clinics and treatments

Bloom does not believe there is one universally “best” clinic or treatment. The right fit can depend on a client’s goals, medical needs, preferred doctor, budget, timeline, communication requirements and tolerance for travel or downtime.

When comparing providers, we may consider:

  • Clinical capabilities and relevant experience

  • Experience supporting international patients

  • English-language communication

  • Pricing and what is included

  • Appointment availability and convenience

  • Clinic processes and follow-up

  • Our own or our clients’ direct experiences

We aim to explain why a provider or treatment is being discussed rather than presenting a recommendation without context.

Commercial relationships

Bloom’s service is provided to clients at no additional fee, and clients pay the clinic directly.

Bloom may have commercial relationships with some of the providers featured or recommended on our website. These relationships do not increase the price a client pays through Bloom.

A commercial relationship does not automatically make a clinic suitable for every client. We consider the client’s goals, timeline and circumstances when helping them explore options, and we aim to be transparent about the basis of our guidance.

Prices, currencies and changing information

Prices shown on Bloom Korea are estimates or provider information confirmed at a particular point in time. Actual costs can vary according to the clinic, doctor, treatment plan, medication, optional services and currency exchange rate.

Where price or process information is particularly important, we aim to include:

  • The currency used

  • What the estimate includes

  • Common additional costs

  • When the information was last checked

  • A reminder to confirm the final quote before booking

Published and updated dates appear on our core guides. We change an article’s updated date only after a meaningful review or revision.

Corrections and updates

We aim to correct material errors clearly and promptly.

If a reader, clinic or professional contributor identifies information that may be inaccurate or outdated, we review it against the most direct available source. When appropriate, we update the article and its visible updated date.

To request a correction, email support@bloomkorea.co with:

  • The article address

  • The statement you believe should be reviewed

  • The reason it may be inaccurate

  • A supporting source, if available

We welcome corrections made in good faith.

The limits of our content

Bloom’s articles are general informational resources. They are not a substitute for advice from a doctor, pharmacist, lawyer or other appropriately qualified professional.

Do not delay urgent care while waiting for a response from Bloom. If you are experiencing urgent symptoms, contact the treating clinic, visit the nearest emergency department or call the local emergency number.

For questions about a clinic process, document requirement or appointment in Korea, Bloom can help contact the provider and confirm the latest available information.
